The first sections of every jathakam are free (the summary, birth details, the star and the charts). One payment opens the full jathakam for that person - dasha, yogas and doshas, remedies, the reading of the years ahead and more - and lets you save it as a PDF. Close the app fully and open it again - a payment that went through while the app was closed is picked up when it opens. If it is still locked, write to us with the order number from your Google Play or Apple receipt.

No. A paid jathakam stays open for the same birth date, time and place, whatever the name. A different birth date, time or place is a different jathakam.

Refunds are handled by the store. On Android, open Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, choose the order and ask for a refund. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have a problem with the jathakam itself, write to us first - we are happy to help.

Your tasks, family and paid jathakams come back on a new phone through your phone's own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone) when it is turned on. You can also use Settings → Export / back up to save your tasks and family, and Import them on the new phone. Paid jathakams come back only with the phone's own backup - if one doesn't, write to us with the order number from your Google Play receipt.

No. Everything stays on your phone. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us. See the privacy policy.

Allow notifications for the app in your phone's settings, and on Android turn off battery optimisation for it. Reminders are planned three weeks ahead, so open the app now and then to keep them coming. Settings → Reminders → Send a test reminder checks that they work.

In Settings → Reminders you can choose the time for birthdays, sraddham (ശ്രാദ്ധം / சிரார்த்தம்) and all-day tasks, for the morning summary, and for festivals the day before. Each task and family member also has its own choice (on the day, a day before, …).

These depend on where you are. Check Settings → Location - choose Current location, or pick your town. In the Kerala Calendar apps, Malayalam dates, stars and festivals always follow Kerala; in the Tamil Calendar apps, Tamil dates, stars and festivals follow Tamil Nadu (Chennai) - as printed calendars do.

NIRASTRO shows the daily reading (ദിനഫലം / தினப்பலன்) for yesterday, today and tomorrow, and the monthly and yearly readings (മാസഫലം, വർഷഫലം / மாதப்பலன், வருடப்பலன்) for the current month and year. NIRASTRO Pro shows them for any day, month and year.

NIRASTRO keeps up to 5 family members (birthdays and sraddham together); importing a file with more brings in the first 5. NIRASTRO Pro has no limit. Moving to Pro? Use Settings → Export / back up in NIRASTRO and Import in NIRASTRO Pro (Kerala to Kerala Pro, Tamil to Tamil Pro).
